Therapeutic Approach

Evidence-based treatment

I use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and IFS (internal family systems), both of which are evidence-based treatments. I am also informed by attachment theory.

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a practical approach that looks at how our thoughts and behaviours affect us. It helps build awareness of mental processes.

IFS

Internal family systems is a integrative approach that can heal traumas and bring insight in a short amount of time, often in as little as one to two sessions. It is client-led and moves according to the pace of the client’s internal system.

Attachment Theory

Attachment theory is a psychological model coined by John Bowlby that describes the range of emotional attachment between humans, beginning in infant-caregiver stage and extending to adult relationships.
